Kristen and I weren’t just high school sweethearts. Although we were together all through high school, we also have a photo from a mall photo kiosk at age12. When high school ended, Kristen’s parents were transferred to Michigan, and I set out to follow the dream of becoming a working musician. Kristen began what would be many years of college, that would lead her to her MBA from Oakland University.

 

15 years later, we were finally able to reconnect with help from social media. At the time I was working as a painter and remodeler in Massachusetts, and Kristen was living in Michigan and working in the auto industry. We quickly realized that even though each of us had been married and divorced, time had stood still between us. For me, it was a simple decision to move to Michigan, and soon after to start planning for our wedding.

 

I arrived in Michigan in 2010 and continued painting and remodeling. The mix of skills and trades inspired a unique interest in materials and products as well as a knowledge base of construction and repairs in relation to their protective coatings and finishes.

 

Over the years as a painter, I have seen large corporate companies take over and slowly replace smaller quality brands and products (the ones that brought contractors in, in the first place) with self branded copies. I also watched the quality of their core products decline.

 

When the opportunity presented itself I jumped at the chance to become a local private retailer for Benjamin Moore, a private company that is quality driven by quality. 

 

I am excited to bring back those quality products and brands. 

 

Our goal is to restore the knowledge and service homeowners and contractors deserve.
